The awareness of tooth avulsion management among general public in Riyadh city: A survey based study

ABSTRACT

Introduction: It is important that general public should have basic knowledge of management of an avulsed tooth in order to increase the chances of saving an avulsed tooth among their children. Therefore, present study was conducted to determine the knowledge and practice of general public towards the management of avulsed tooth in Riyadh. Methodology: A cross-sectional was conducted using online survey using Google Forms with questions related to personal and demographic information followed knowledge and practice regarding tooth avulsion. A total of 1650 residents filled the survey including 575 males and 1075 females. Better knowledge regarding the avulsed tooth management as compared to males was observed in females which was statistically significant. Results: There was no statistically significant difference among the participants on the basis of educational level. Conclusion: There is a need of educating the public specially the younger ones to properly manage an avulsed tooth whenever encountered.
