ABSTRACT

The present study provides a preliminary assessment of butterfly diversity in Todgarh-Raoli Wildlife Sanctuary (TR-WLS) based on surveys conducted from 2023 to 2024 across three forest ranges. Forty-one species were recorded across five families, with Lycaenidae being the most diverse (14 species). Eight species were very common, 19 common, 11 occasional, and three rare, including Cigaritis lilacinus, Potanthus pseudomaesa, and Spialia galba. This baseline study underscores the need for further research to develop effective butterfly conservation strategies.
